Jiyuan Vocational and Technical College(JYVTC) is a public higher vocational college ，which is located in the national civilized  city-- Jiyuan, the hometown of Yugong and the source of Ji River.JYVTC，founded in 1993, used to be Jiyuan Secondary Industrial School. In 2001, it was upgraded to a higher vocational college. In 2015, it jointly carried out applied undergraduate education with Zhengzhou University of Light Industry.

The college focuses on inner construction , strives for survival by quality and development by characteristics. It has explored the "four docking" school-running mode,namely Professional Set-up docking with industrial development, curriculum docking with post ability, practice teaching docking with enterprise production, education services docking with social needs. We have advanced facilities and excellent teaching staff. With two campuses, JYVTC covers an area of more than 2,400 mu(of which the new campus under construction covers an area of 1626 mu, with a total investment of 3.877 billion yuan).The total value of teaching equipment is 200 million yuan. There is a national first-class library with a collection of 1,109,900 books and a provincial first-class vocational skills training center with a total area of nearly 100,000 square meters and more than 280 experimental training rooms. At present, there are more than 22,000 full-time college students

from 23 provinces across the country, including 3000 students of adult education.The faculty structure includes both full-time and part-time teachers. Currently, there are more than 1,300 faculty members, 20% are professors and associate professors, 40% hold a doctor's or master's degree.  The number of professors who enjoy State Council allowance and those who are awarded as national famous teachers, famous teachers of Henan Province, experts at vocational education of Henan Province, academic and technical leaders of Henan Province is over 40.

JYVTC  has fully implemented the "Quality Improvement Action Plan" and the "Double High Project" project. It is a pilot college of modern apprenticeship system and 1+X certificate system recognized by the Ministry of Education.

There are 2 key construction majors supported by the central government, 3 pilot majors of modern apprenticeship system by the Ministry of Education and 4 state-level backbone majors. JYVTC is one of the pilot colleges for teaching improvement,with 3 national quality online open courses and 6 national planning textbooks and textbook construction awards. Teachers have won 2 national awards and 45 provincial awards in the teaching ability competition and classroom teaching innovation competition.

JYVTC keeps carrying out innovative implementation of the "New Yugong" growth project and the construction of "Jiyuan model" of combining the excellent traditional Chinese culture with the talent training. JYVTC focuses on cultivating students with Yugong spirit in the new era, who are supposed to possess qualities of having ideals, daring to take on responsibilities, bearing hardships, working diligently, learning techniques proficiently and innovatively. The "New Yugong" growth project was selected as an excellent case of national higher vocational education reform and development, and won many honors such as the most beautiful vocational education brand in Henan Province, the Excellent Brand of Ideological and Political Work in colleges and universities in Henan Province, the Outstanding Achievement Award of Campus Culture Construction in colleges and universities in Henan Province, and the Outstanding Achievement Award of Student work.In recent years, our students have won more than 500 provincial and ministerial awards in various vocational skill competitions, including 47 national group awards.

With in-depth integration of production and education, JYVTC has made fruitful outcomes in technological services.Adhering to the national and regional economic development strategies, JYVTC sets up urgently needed majors such as industrial robots, intelligent metallurgical technology, applied chemical technology, new energy vehicle technology, big data technology and application, construction engineering technology, nursing, preschool education, e-commerce, jewelry design and technology, high-speed rail crew and so on, actively serving economic and social development. We have signed strategic cooperation agreements with Huawei Group, Gree Group, Fulian Technology, BYD, Henan Yuguang, Jiyuan Iron and Steel, Henan Jinli, Henan Qingshuiyuan, Jiyuan Cultural Travel Group and other over 500 enterprises to draw on each other's advantages and seek win-win cooperation and common development. We have jointly built Intelligent Manufacturing Industry College, Oracle Software College, Silver Jewelry Industry Training College, Jiyuan Craftsman College, Suzhou Industrial Park Modern Industry College etc. Each year more than 6,000 technical talents are transferred to the society, and over 20,000 people are trained with technical skills in JYVTC . The college is recognized as the intangible Cultural Heritage Research base of Henan Province by the Department of Culture and Tourism of Henan Province, and is the only institution supported by the National Natural Science Fund in Jiyuan. There are more than 20 industry-university-research and development platforms such as Jiyuan Development Research Institute, Jishui Culture Research Center, Henan Yanyi Research Center, Jiyuan Metallurgical and Chemical Innovation Research Institute, Sun Simiao Institute of Traditional Chinese Medicine, and Yugong Yishan Spirit Research Center. The provincial scientific research platform - Henan Industrial Robot Intelligent Interaction and Control Engineering Technology Research Center has been built. JYVTC has established 16 municipal key laboratories for the comprehensive development of authentic Chinese medicinal materials and intelligent control of water treatment, and 12 master studios for the skills of Lutong tea making technique, ink-stone art and pottery art. It has 433 national authorized patents and won the second prize of National Higher Education Teaching Achievements and National Science and Technology Progress Award.

JYVTC keeps deepening both innovation and entrepreneurship education, and has made outstanding achievements in "entrepreneurship and innovation".A total of 36 million yuan has been invested in building innovation training centers with a building area of 15,000 square meters and more than 500 entrepreneurial projects such as the industrialization development of Wangwu Mountain wormwood have been incubated, offering more than 1,000 jobs for the society. Students have won 1 silver and 5 bronze medals in the national "Internet +" College Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, and won 42 provincial awards. The university is one of the few "dual-base" schools in Henan Province, which is the demonstration base of innovation and entrepreneurship practice for college students and the demonstration base of entrepreneurship incubation in Henan Province. The employment rate of graduates has remained above 95% for many consecutive years.
